Forty-seven members, visitors, and guests gathered at the Paradise Restaurant in Sequim to celebrate the first anniversary of our charter.

Much has transpired over this past year, but the easy camaraderie and zest for enjoying one another's company continues unabated.

Entertainment was provided by Nostalgia, normally a five piece orchestra but here we see our very own Fred Johnson on base, with Owen Mulkey in the background, and Marylou Montgomery on saxophone.

The soft music contributed to the enjoyment of the meal and allowed each of us some time for reflection as we examined our ballots for the election of officers for the coming year.
We were delighted to have Stan Miller, our National Chief of Staff, join Past GM James N. Reid for our festivities.  They are seen here in spirited conversation while awaiting dinner service.

Stan Miller journeyed from his home in Oregon to be with us this evening and we were very pleased to once again have a line officer from the Heroes of '76 present in our area.

James N. Reid Jr. presented our charter on behalf of National Sojourners one year ago while serving as the Grand Master of F&AM of Washington and his return was very much appreciated

President Dee Yager was pleased to present certificates of appreciation to President Graham Kent and Secretary Harold Richardson of our sponsoring chapter, Sinclair Inlet No. 80.
President Dee Yager and Secretary Steve Seteroff then surprised Joseph Illes, Past Area Representative, by honoring his contribution as mentor, coach, and prime mover and shaker over the years of our existence.

We were pleased to initiate Br. Paul Carmean into our chapter with, who was conducted by John Jones.  Dee Yager administered the obligation and Don Patrick delivered the medal lecture and the charge.

The room was attentive as Don Patrick delivers both the charge and the medal lecture from memory.  This was the first public delivery of the charge for Don and his efforts are very much appreciated. Robert Mitchell presented the chapter with a replica of the Sojourner Medal on a stand for display at our meetings and for use in our degree.  Dee Yager accepted the medal on behalf of the chapter.
Stanley Miller, National Chief of Staff, delivers his message to the chapter while President Dee Yager looks on.  As usual Stan was eloquent and compelling.  We look forward to seeing him as National Commander later this year.

James N. Reid Jr. was at his best in delivering an entertaining and powerful message on the impact of our chapter, and Sojourners in general, on the youth of our community.

Nothing could be better, of course, than to find an error committed by the Secretary in preparing the certificate of appreciation.  Here Jimmie and Dee bring the error to attention of all.  Thank you.

Announcements were kept to an absolute minimum in keeping with a festive atmosphere but the audience listens in rapt attention to our Area Representative Wayne Smith as he invites all to attend our PNW Area Encampment.
No meeting of our chapter would be complete without a raffle, and here we see a drawing for one of the six prizes awarded.  A special thank you to Ed Marion for a stock of prizes from Mexico.

After closing the meeting we honored our flag, said our goodbyes, and went our separate ways.
