Bett Houston - A Woman's Perspective on the Middle East

We were pleased to welcome our guest speaker Bett Houston who has traveled extensively in the Middle East as part of her archeological interests.  During her travels she has met with Israelis and Palestinians across a broad spectrum of society and has applied her powers of observation.  We were very pleased by her choice of a casual and relaxed, yet intense, approach that set an atmosphere of interactive pursuit of understanding.  It was very clear that she was a critical observer and she was able to pass on the myriad fine points that allowed us to better understand the issues.
The topic broadened considerably as the intensity of the dialogue increased and even Harry Houston, Bett's husband, assisted by providing additional perspectives.  The topic was well covered. Of interest is that several of our ladies participated in the dialogue and we were very pleased to strike a chord of interest across a broader spectrum of our audience.  As a new organization we we thrilled that Bett was able to involve so many.
We simply ran out of time and so Bett had to close the dialogue early, leaving may questions pending.  President Dee Yager was pleased to present a Certificate of Appreciation to Bett. We were pleased to invite her back and sincerely hope that she accepts this as an open invitation.  We learned so much from her, and have so much more to learn.  Her powers of observation are superb and her objectivity a breath of fresh air.
