ACCESS |
What does ACCESS
service cost the user? Many
users qualify for reduced fare programs. See Fares
Schedule for details.
Can
the Operator come into my home and help me into my wheelchair? No. The
Operators are unable to enter residences to assist passengers into or out of
their wheelchairs. The Operator’s responsibility is to escort passengers
from the door of the residence to the bus. If you are in need of assistance
inside your home, please contact our office and we can refer you to local
agencies that provide services inside the home.
Do I have to
give a return time when I go to the Doctor's Office? Your
doctor's office should be able to help you estimate the length of time
you'll need. Your return trip will be scheduled when you call in your
reservation. Some will-call trips will be allowed for passengers who
reside in the same area as the medical office they are visiting.
I just broke
my leg and need immediate transportation to my doctor’s appointments.
However, the application process takes up to 21 days. How do I arrange for
immediate transportation? For
individuals needing immediate transportation due to an unforeseen condition,
Kitsap Transit ACCESS is able to provide temporary eligibility. An
application is then sent to you to complete. The 21 day waiting period would
be waived.
Where can I
go on on ACCESS? Kitsap
Transit ACCESS provides transportation to many locations within
Kitsap County. If you are fully eligible to ride and ACCESS serves
your location, you could use ACCESS to go shopping, visit friends, or
even go to work.
What hours
is the reservation line open? The Kitsap
Transit ACCESS reservation line is open from 8:00am to 4:00 p.m.
Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday and most
Holidays.
